Garrido's 1976 Victim Attends Jaycee Hearing

Katie Callaway Hall 'here because he kidnapped, raped me'

Share

(Newser) – A woman kidnapped and raped by Phillip Garrido unexpectedly visited the Bay Area to watch a court hearing for Garrido, who stands accused of the kidnapping and rape of Jaycee Lee Dugard. Garrido abducted and assaulted Katie Calloway Hall in 1976, but was released on parole in 1988. Hall says she wants to be a “watchdog” in the Dugard case to make sure Garrido gets what he deserves.

"I'm here because of the fact that he kidnapped and raped me," Hall tells the San Francisco Chronicle. "I intend to be at as many (hearings) as I can. I'm not going to shut up and go away like the parole board told me to do 21 years ago. I have my own personal reasons for wanting to see him put away."

This is asinine. If you kidnap and rape someone, I think you've proven that you don't deserve to be free. He should have never been paroled. He should have been dumped out of a plane flying over the Atlantic. "You've got ten seconds to learn to fly, fucker!" Reply

Well, we have to let the rapists out to make room for the guy with 20 bucks of weed he sold to his buddy.

The Justice Department needs to investigate the parole board that released him and told Katie to shut up about it. Reply
