SF Mayor Drops Out of Calif. Governor's Race

Newsom's decision makes Jerry Brown virtual lock for Dem nod

(Newser) – Citing his responsibilities as San Francisco mayor and as a new father, Democrat Gavin Newsom withdrew today from the race to succeed Arnold Schwarzenegger as California governor. Despite the heavyweight endorsement of Bill Clinton, Newsom has had trouble raising money; his departure leaves state attorney general, and former governor, Jerry Brown virtually unchallenged for the party’s 2010 nomination.

I don't know what the dickwads below are talking about, but allow me to wail nooo! alongside yoou, crissy. Newsom is awesome. He's progay and held Zero accountable for his spineless avoidance of him during the election (Zerobama's cronies in his campaign include at least 6 homophobes), but the scum below trying to say he "likes little boys" is despicable. There are women running, so let's hope there are some good choices now that the best has stepped down.

And may I add, good luck, Newsom, in caring for your family, and THANK YOU for targeting human trafficking. Jail the johns and throw away the keys. Kill the end-users, kill the trafficking.
