Rapist Lived Openly Among Rotting Victims

(Newser) – The Ohio rapist arrested in the strangulation of six women lived openly among their rotting corpses in his home, according to cops. Bodies were found exposed in bedrooms and the living room. Officers said the stench was overpowering. "Not a pretty sight inside the home," said a Cleveland police spokesman. Neighbors said Anthony Sowell's own repellent smell made their eyes water, the New York Daily News reports.

"He came to my store last week and reeked so bad, I had to open the doors," said a local store owner. "I asked why he stunk. He shrugged, bought his beer and walked out." Sowell, 50, dutifully visited his parole officer on a rape conviction while the women disappeared.

Again and again and again and again and again one keeps on wondering: How can the police be so f**king incompetent? Multiple complaints were made to the police regarding the stench eminating from this home. No police visits. No examination of the stench by health officials. And this went on for how many months, considering that this was a convicted rapist? Give me a f**king break. The agenda of police is not the public agenda.
