Fox host has appendix removed, out indefinitely

(Newser) – Glenn Beck’s appendix accomplished today what the nasty wishes of liberals everywhere couldn’t: It took him off the air. Beck excused himself early from his national radio show; an exec at his production company confirmed the operation. “Before going under Glenn asked the doctor to draw out the surgery procedure on a blackboard,” Christopher Balfe joked to NTS MediaOnline.

(NEWSER) - The death of the whistleblower who landed Rupert Murdoch in trouble drew a big chuckle from Glenn Beck yesterday. "Did you hear about the guy who was the whistleblower on the News of the World thing? I love this story. He woke up dead!" Beck laughs on his program . "I'm not saying that foul play was involved, but it is suspicious that he's dead." He then quipped that Vladimir Putin was involved in Sean Hoare's death. (NEWSER) - Glenn Beck is no more on Fox News: He signed off from his show for the final time today. "He kept the chalkboards to a minimum, and shed no tears," writes Jack Mirkinson at the Huffington Post . "He also shied away from too many specific recollections about his show." (NEWSER) - "I’ve had all I can stand, Fox TV, and I can’t stand no more," former White House "green jobs" czar Van Jones said in recent tirade against the Glenn Beck and his soon-to-be-ex-employer. Jones, who resigned in 2009 after being targeted by Beck, has challenged the host to debate him before time runs out on his Fox show at the end of this month, and has threatened to take Fox to court over "a series of sensational and inflammatory charges" made against him on its shows, reports the Huffington Post . (NEWSER) - Glenn Beck fans are going to have to shell out at least $4.95 a month to watch him online after he leaves Fox at the end of this month . Beck plans to introduce a Netflix-style subscription plan for GBTV, his new online TV venture . Beck and his staffers admit that the new business model is a risky one.
