Given what happened last time they took a vacation, Democratic lawmakers are steeling themselves for the Veterans Day recess, anticipating a fresh round of battles on health care reform. Members of Congress from both sides have been armed with fact sheets and talking points on what Republicans dub "The Pelosi Health Care Bill." The bill's passage in the House gives Dems something to show constituents, but also hands opponents convenient targets, Politico notes.

Expect the airwaves to be blitzed with ads for and against the health bill throughout the recess. MoveOn.org is rolling out a $500,000 campaign to denounce Democrats who voted against it and thank those who supported it. The US Chamber of Commerce and assorted anti-tax groups, meanwhile, plan a barrage of news releases highlighting the health care vote's tax implications.
