Shirt's Message: Pray for Obama's Death

Verse reads, 'Let his days be few' and 'let his children be fatherless'

(Newser) – A seemingly innocent shirt asking readers to pray for the president has ulterior motives. Shirts and bumper stickers are cropping up with the phrase "Pray for Obama Psalm 109:8." As Gawker points out, the verse in question reads in part, "Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow."

My apologies, I misread your post. I completely agree.

you should really read previous posts before throwing your hat in. This has been covered above. Ritual repetition of the same argument does not create any new meaning. The bible must be considered within context. This shirt is hateful, treasonous, and inappropriate. There is a right to freedom of speech though, so no matter how evil the shirt is, it can be worn. Should be worn really. It warns the world of people either ignorant, or angry. The shirt might as well say "Fool".

That's one interpretation I'm afraid. Consider the shift in language for translations and you NEED to, I repeat NEED TO, either learn the original Hebrew and all it's connotations, or take context into account. That means, the language in the bible is not exact. You must treat it as a story, and consider who's talking and what they mean whenever you use a quote.
