Drug overdose suspected in death of Mikey Welsh

(NEWSER) - Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh has been found dead in a Chicago hotel room at age 40, reports the Chicago Tribune . Police suspect a drug overdose is involved. Welsh was found unresponsive yesterday afternoon after he failed to check out of his room at 1pm; he was reportedly in town to watch his former band play tonight. Weezer frontman still in hospital following crash, but feeling good

(NEWSER) - Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo is still in the hospital following last weekend’s tour bus crash, but his condition’s improving, and the doctors say he’ll probably be released in the next few days. “Yesterday Rivers finally made it onto his feet for the first time since the crash, going on two hospital hallway walks with the aid of a walker,” said the band’s website . Alexa Ray Joel took a homeopathic drug, source says

(NEWSER) - Alexa Ray Joel is out of the hospital and "is going to be fine," her father, Billy Joel, said last night. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, reportedly distraught over a recent breakup, was treated at a New York hospital after overdosing on a substance a source identifies as a homeopathic drug.
