Sorry, Tiger, it looks like you won’t be getting that Congressional Gold Medal after all. California Rep. Joe Baca, who’d been pushing for legislation to honor Woods with the highest civilian award bestowed by Congress, says that “in light of recent events,” he’ll be dropping that particular campaign. The bill, introduced in March, had sought to recognize Woods for “his service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and…by showing that golf is a sport for all people.” (More Tiger Woods stories.)
