(Newser) – The next time you have to clean your own house or resort to shopping at—gasp!—H&M instead of Prada, don’t feel bad: The stars of Real Housewives of Orange County are right there with you. As if those shocking belt-tighteners aren’t bad enough, one of the housewives also recently had a garage sale, PopEater reports. “All of them have been very much affected by the economic situation,” says a producer.

It might be funny to watch a woman who got a diamond Rolex for her 40th birthday cleaning her own bathroom, but on the serious side, this season will see one housewife’s family evicted. By happy coincidence, cameras just so happened to be rolling when the notice was served. The downsized show “helps people across the nation because they realize it's not just them,” one housewife says.
