(Newser) – Better-than-expected quarterly earnings reports from Oracle and Research in Motion bolstered the tech sector today, pushing the Nasdaq ahead as the other indices recorded sluggish gains, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow added 20.63 points to close at 10,328.89.
  • The Nasdaq rose 31.64, closing at 2,211.69.
  • The S&P 500 gained 6.31 to settle at 1,102.39.
