(Newser) – Seven people were killed in avalanches in the Italian Alps, including four rescuers who were searching for missing tourists skiing in the Trentino region. A government spokesman blamed the deaths on skiers' refusal to heed warnings about conditions. Officials had recently boosted the avalanche alert level.

they only stupid people are those who talk without knowing the facts...first...rescue is not obliged by law, its a decision they make on their own, sort of military reasoning in not leaving men behind....the govt. has advised many times not to venture in the mountains with this kind of whether nonetheless they went to look for these people although im sure everyone agrees they should have been left buried...this makes these people even more heroic...4 people died trying to save others...have some respect

Ucantusethatname. You deserve to be left out in the middle of the Amazon, or on top of the Alps by yourself, without any supplies or anything but a set of skis. With NO rescue help in the mix. How can you say that the rescuers are stupid for trying to SAVE LIVES? Does that mean that the firefighters that died in 9/11 going in the World Trade Center buildings are stupid too? Sometimes you have to serve something greater than yourself. Risking your life to save someone else's life is one of those things. Those people are better than you could ever hope to be. Would you want people to come try and save you and your friends in the same situation? I think so. This is just so unbelievably ignorant I can't even find an insult fitting for your lack of respect and sense of heroism.
