Slammed for poor signal and dropped calls, AT&T has blamed its troubles in part on the iPhone’s heavy data usage—and now UK provider O2 is also pointing a finger at the gadget, PC World reports. O2 users have been plagued by similar problems, and “where we haven’t met our own high standards then there’s no question, we apologize,” its CEO told the Financial Times.
“But it would be wrong to say that O2 has failed its customers en masse,” he added. Shaky networks will likely be blamed on providers, not on Apple’s product, writes Tony Bradley of PC World—meaning the decision to join forces with Apple could ultimately do more harm than good for AT&T and O2. Apple, for its part, should build “its own wireless service,” Bradley suggests.
