(Newser) – Relatives pulled an 84-year-old woman from the rubble of their home today in Port-au-Prince, digging for 20 hours with bare hands after hearing moaning coming from under the ruins left by the earthquakes that rocked Haiti on Jan. 12. Marie Carida Romain “is very thin. She is in a state of shock and severely dehydrated,” an American doctor tells CBS, adding that her survival is hardly assured.
