(Newser) – When a New Hampshire state prison inmate used a hard-boiled egg to illustrate his grievance with his institutional diet, the federal judge overseeing the case sought lofty counsel—Dr. Seuss. "I do not like eggs in the file. I do not like eggs any style," James Muirhead responded, reports the Concord Monitor.

Charles Wolff, an Orthodox Jew and convicted sex offender, is suing the state for $10 million and access to a kosher diet. He recently sent the court a letter complaining that the hard-boiled egg he'd been served didn't meet his complicated dietary needs—and enclosing an egg. Muirhead ordered it destroyed "Today! Today! Today I say! Without delay!"
