13-Foot Alligator Kills 11-Year-Old Girl

(Newser) – An 11-year-old girl who was swimming with friends in a river in Brazil was attacked and killed by a 13-foot-long alligator, according to local media reports. The girl was playing in shallow water in the northern part of the country, near the Amazon, when the alligator struck. The reptile was shot and killed about 100 yards from the site of the attack so that the victim's body could be recovered, the AP reports..

well, the wast majority of people don't eat people, and if they did they would have to remove the meat from the bones andchew them up, not swallow them whole. therefore there would be nothing to retrieve

Aelius28 wouldn't you want to recover your childs body? i know i would, and eveidently, so would JGirl.. I'd like to give my child a proper burial instead of letting it be digested inside of a croc/gater/any animal...

if it were my child i would want to retrieve his/her body - it's not like the croc is going to spit it out, so what else are ya gonna do?
