Archrivals Jay Leno and David Letterman were pals again for the Super Bowl thanks to the power of social networking, the host quipped on the next-to-last show Jay Leno Show last night. "Letterman and I hadn't seen each other in over 18 years," Leno said. "We lost touch. He found me on Facebook. He made a friend request, I accepted, and we hooked up and watched the game."
The surprise promo for Letterman's Late Show "went so well," Leno continued, "Dave and I have decided to go to Vancouver and compete in the two-man luge." Post-monologue, Leno gave the real story behind the ad, which owes more to canny CBS execs than Mark Zuckerberg, E! Online notes. "It was great to see my old friend again," Leno said. "We talked about the old days; it was really good to see him."
