Kobe Joins Wilt With Four 50-Pointers

Needs four more 50-point games to break Chamberlain's record

(Newser) – Kobe Bryant’s 50 points Friday night versus the New Orleans Hornets moved the three-time NBA Champion into elite company: Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to score at least 50 points in at least four consecutive games.

To break Wilt’s record, set during the 1961-’62 season, the Lakers' all-star would have to score at least 50 points in his next four more games. Up next are weak defensive teams in the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies; the latter yielded 60 points to Bryant on Thursday night.
