Scientology Launches 'Warrior' Film to Spur Staff

'Play for blood,' urges motivational video

(Newser) – A heavy-duty call-to-battle video featuring clips from Braveheart, Independence Day and various movies of star cult member Tom Cruise has been created by Scientology leaders to spur Vegas staffers into fighting infidels. The video urges members to "play for blood" and features battle scenes bristling with weaponry, from bloody spears to missiles. The video was yanked off You Tube for copyright violations after Gawker informed Lucasfilm that Star Wars scenes were part of the film.

There was no official response from Scientology leaders concerning the video. But the anonymous You Tube poster said the tape was created to convince people to sign up as staff for the new Scientology Celebrity Center in Las Vegas.

Scenes from the movie Braveheart appear in a video created by Scientology leader to rev up staffers at a new Las Vegas Celebrity Center.

Must we remember that money and power do not automatically make a smart person...and this childish attempt of a childlike religion was founded in science-fiction...and that's it.

I really don't see this religion as that much wackier than any of the others. They are a bit more brazen with the money gathering but look at the Vatican and it's holdings for another example of a "celebrity center".

This is how religions start. Someone makes up a story that could have life lessons involved and off you go to SELL it. No different than all of those hallowed early saints or Mohammad going around the ancient world trading stories and lessons for a place to sleep and some food. Beat the hell out of farming olives or whatever went on back then.

Many other religions are trashing it because of business reasons. You got some chumps with change and that makes the religious world go round, or at least pays for that new roof on the church.

Us atheist trash it because, well. it's nuts. But not much nuttier than the others.

I just ask that other religions be careful when bad mouthing these new religions. Whenever one religion starts picking on another, someone ends up in an oven or at war.

Leave the reason to us atheists.

Maybe they USED to have great PIs...but they have fallen on hard times. They have spent much from their savings for commercials, but new people just aren't joining like they used to and people are quitting more and more.
It is safer now for media to discuss them openly than anytime since the 50's.
Go get 'em.
