(Newser) – It sounds like a movie plot: A group of celebrity-obsessed teenagers busted for burglarizing the homes of some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, scoring $3 million in items, including a necklace belonging to Lindsay Lohan. It’s not a movie—yet!—but it is a reality show: One of the teens allegedly involved is a star of E!’s upcoming Pretty Wild, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The show paints 18-year-old Alexis Neiers, purported member of the “Bling Ring,” and her siblings as “three sisters raising hell in the city of angels.” When Neiers was arrested, not only did E! keep shooting, but a camera crew asked to film the LAPD’s search of Neiers’ home and her interrogation. Recalls a detective, "My impression of the Neiers family was that they were more concerned about the reality show than the crimes we're alleging she committed and the possible legal consequences.”

This is so disturbing. Crime pays in Hollywood. Reality show for convicted criminals. What's next? Reality shows for failed vice-presidential candidates? Maybe my old man knew something with his Matlock, Golden Girls and PBR in that Lay-Z-Boy.
