(Newser) – Um, newsflash, guys: Miley Cyrus is growing up (goodbye, Hannah Montana; hello, oh-so-sophisticated Nicholas Sparks movie!) and she, like, totally has the serious boyfriend to prove it. “I think we're both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel,” Cyrus explains to Teen Vogue. More fun quotes: The actress-slash-singer is “sick of quadruple threats who do everything when they should stick to one thing” (Dear pot? Meet kettle); she also says her favorite Sex and the City character is—no surprise here—sex addict Samantha.

It sort of depends on what she means by "deep." You can be a deep thinker and still be incredibly vain, naive, and infantile. Similarly, you can be spiritually deep and, despite sage-like humility, maturity and strong sense of purpose, be a shallow thinker prone to oversimplifying your examinations of the world. I am disheartened that anyone who would read this story just to leave a hateful comment about Cyrus could still think, after doing so, that they are in a position to judge. Honestly, you are SO much more civilized than her that you make fun of her for it on the internet?
