(Newser) – Silvio Berlusconi is getting nasty over the prospect of his party losing seats in this weekend's regional elections, and he's aiming his fury at the media, judges, and…the governor of the Piemonte region? “You know why Bresso is always in a bad mood?” said Berlusconi about the 65-year-old woman. “Because in the morning when she gets up, she looks at herself in the mirror to put her make-up on—and sees herself. And so her day is already ruined.” Snap!

Hold on, replied Mercedes Bresso. “Regarding make up, I don't use much; I don't need it as much as Berlusconi. I'm young, in good shape and haven't had a facelift.” Double snap! Berlusconi’s wit aside, a professor tells the Independent his time may soon be up. “As a result of this election I think we might start seeing a discussion about where the right is going.”

Surprised you caught this story but overlooked the fact that Berlusconi was taped demanding that political chat shows that were "biased" against him should be taken off the air by the national broadcaster RAI. The response of the "independent" broadcasting control authority was to suspend ALL political chat shows until AFTER the elections. Genius.

Anyhow, a nice addendum was that the union of journalists sponsored a national webcast last night that allowed many of the suspended ones back on the air through the back door.

Not a bad show, it was either.
