(Newser) – Bristol Palin urges teens to consider the consequences of a teen pregnancy in a new PSA. Produced by the Candie's Foundation, the ad shows Palin with son Tripp telling teens to "pause before you play," reports Huffington Post. It's an open-ended message that she tells ABC could mean "pause and go get a condom or it could be pause and think about your life or it could even be pause and wait until marriage."

While few take issue with the intent, Bristol has caught some heat: In the ad, she notes that she's from a "famous family" and asks, "What if I didn't have all their support? What if I didn't have all these opportunities? Believe me, it wouldn't be pretty." At E! Online, Gina Serpe thinks it's insulting. She paraphrases: "I'm privileged, so it's OK that I got pregnant, but you're not, so don't."

If she wasn't from a famous family maybe her mother would have been paying attention. And not turned her into an unpaid and unhapppy babysitter. And she might have been prepared and sent to college, like most middle class kids. And her mother might have noticed the boy hanging around and offered her birth control. And not insisted she carry the pregnancy to term. She might have had CHOICE, when she needed it. And if those rotten people hadn't made a big political production out of it, her life might have been happier.

if you watched the video without knowing who she was would you have the same reaction? I get the feeling from reading the posts that waiting till your married is the worst possible thing, and also people like to have hateful opinions of people they disagree with. How intolerant, for a bunch of so called loving helpful people. Democrats. Oh sorry when lefty greenies talk about being tolerant they mean only of people they agree with.

While I don’t like her comments about being from a famous family at least she is trying. That is more than we can say for her mother.
