Who would run The Office without Michael Scott around? We may find out after next season: Steve Carell recently told BBC Radio that his contract expires at that point, and “that will probably be my last year.” Darren Franich points out this could just be the starting point of salary negotiations—but if it’s not, he writes for Entertainment Weekly, “Carell’s departure could be the best thing to happen to The Office.” Just think: Jim vs. Dwight vs. Ryan for regional manager!
