(Newser) – Police believe three 18-year-olds used a sex chat line help set up DC-area high school principal Brian Betts for a robbery, which turned into a murder. Police say Betts met someone online, who gave him the phone number. “It's been described as a sex chat line, a social networking chat line,” said Maryland's police chief. He added, “Any time you contact someone over the Internet there's always that risk. … You just never know who you may meet up with.”

Two 18-year-old men have been charged with first-degree murder, and charges are pending against another 18-year-old, reports CNN. A 46-year-old woman was also charged with knowingly receiving Betts' stolen credit card. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
