(Newser) – A congressional candidate from Idaho has the backing of Sarah Palin but a taste for the rhetoric of Barack Obama. A fellow Idaho Republican—not even an opponent, but a candidate for state senate—has released an attack ad contrasting Vaughn Ward's announcement of his candidacy with then-state senator Obama's career-making speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, reports the Washington Post.

Careful not to be accused of plagiarism himself, Lucas Baumbach—a tea partier who's clearly no fan of Obama—helpfully points us to this Idaho Statesman blog post remarking on the similarities. See the video above.

I am so grateful to the Tea Party -- alas Obama will be a shoe-in for re-election as the Tea party shreds the 2 parties paving the way for Obama ha-a-a-a-a-a--a!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It surprises me how dumb people are in thinking they can get away with ANYTHING today! In today World everything is just a click away to verify something. A friend of mine last week told me that his girlfriend was working with a very famous singer and this singer was giving a concert in NYC but I heard nothing about it. I Google the singers name and she was NOT in NYC last weekend!! Now should I tell my friend that his girlfriend lied 2 him?

This type of hype worked for Obama, why should it not work for Ward. It sounds good but in the end says nothing, and instead of people voting on the issues, the get carried away with spin & flash. Jim W, is correct, at least Obama can read a TelePrompTer, and act.
