16 Women Entangled in Sex Scandals

It might usually be the men...but not always

(Newser) – Nikki Haley’s rumored affair with a blogger got the Daily Beast thinking about why it is that women get caught up in fewer sex scandals than men. That doesn’t mean, however, they're never tabloid bait. Sixteen of the juiciest:

  • Princess Diana: The tabs jumped on all sorts of affair rumors, during her marriage to Prince Charles and after. In one phone call, she called married life “torture.”

  • Sydney Biddle Barrows: The blueblood "Mayflower Madam" secretly ran a Manhattan prostitution ring that brought in nearly $1 million a year.
  • Ingrid Bergman: While married, she got pregnant with Italian director Roberto Rossellini’s child. She left her husband and daughter for an open relationship with Rossellini, then left him for another man.
  • Ali MacGraw: The actress left her husband, Paramount Pictures honcho Robert Evans, for Steve McQueen—who was also married. Her career imploded, and the two eventually divorced.

I'm not blaming anybody. I'd have left the family on Christmas morning for Steve McQueen!
