Here's a fact that might surprise the left: Conservative Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle was once a registered Democrat. Angle was a Republican until June 1984, then a Dem until 1988, the AP has discovered from a study of voting records. She switched parties to work for a conservative Democrat running for state Senate, her campaign spokesman tells the AP, but she voted for Reagan in both 1980 and 1984."She's always been conservative," he adds.

Angle, who won the GOP nomination last week to run against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, also registered as a member of the Independent American Party for about a year in the 1990s, records show. Read the full article here. (More Sharron Angle stories.)
