(Newser) – Tony Hayward's impending exit, long grist for the rumor mill, will take place in October, a BP source tells the BBC. There's still been no official announcement from BP, but the source says Hayward will be reassigned to the oil giant's joint venture in Russia; his compensation package is unknown. The White House, meanwhile, is unimpressed: Robert Gibbs said today that regardless of who's in charge, the company had better clean up the Gulf.
