Choosy moms choose Palin

Sarah Palin is hawking something, but it feels more like a condiment than a political message. "'Moms just kinda know?' She's selling her political movement the way they sell peanut butter," Jon Stewart scoffed last night as the Daily Show took on Sarah Palin's "mama grizzly" campaign. Stewart ripped on right-wing media that hail Palin as the new face of feminism for rallying mothers against the Democratic policies that she says are "adversely affecting our cubs."

But don't liberal moms care about their children, too? Nope, Daily Show Senior Women's Issues Correspondent Kristen Schaal tells Stewart: "Liberals aren't bears. If anything, they're gerbils who eat their young if the welfare check is late." But mama grizzlies' real power comes from being moms, not from being bears: "Moms just kinda know if something is wrong," Palin told a rally. "Choosy moms choose Palin," Schaal riffed.
