Last night, Jon Stewart set his sights on the GOP and the scary, scary deficit. He started with a clip montage outlining Republicans' fears: "Spending is out of control." "People are aghast." "They're scared to death about the future for their kids." In other words, says Stewart, "The deficit wants to skullf*** your mother. It wants to eat your children...after it shows your wife a level of physical passion you've never been able to provide."
Luckily, Stewart has found an answer to the GOP's prayers. If Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire at the end of 2010, "the very year Republicans have expressed concern about deficit reduction," said deficit will shrink by some 30%. Cue a new "let's extend the tax cuts" GOP montage. "Oh my God, do they not realize the tax cuts strengthen the deficit monster that's going to eat them!?" cries Stewart. "How exactly can you be for deficit reduction and extending tax cuts?"
