The jury hearing inquiries into the 1997 death of Princess Diana saw footage today of the princess' lover at a Paris jewelers hours before the couple died in a car accident. Dodi Fayed's father claims his son was purchasing an engagement ring to propose to Diana that night. The jury was also shown a $23,500 receipt from that same date.
One such ring was also found in Dodi Fayed's apartment after his death. Fayed left the Repossi store empty-handed, but a hotel employee returned to make a purchase. Mohamed Fayed claims the British government ordered his son and Diana murdered; French and British investigations pinned responsibility on their driver, drunk at the time of the fatal car accident.
