(Newser) - Villanova made it look easy today, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Never trailing after a dominant start, the Wildcats notched their third Sweet 16 appearance in four years with an  84-72 triumph over Siena in the Midwest regional's second round. Scottie Reynolds made his presence felt early, netting 15 points in the first 10 minutes for Villanova, and finishing with 25 points and eight rebounds. More »

Unfortunately for the Commodores, they didn't follow through on that as the 13th-seeded Saints dominated play throughout and added another major upset to their NCAA tournament history - the last coming in 1989 as a No. 14 seed against Stanford, reports AP. Saints headed to NCAA Tournament for first time since 2002

(Newser) - Siena’s only senior, Tay Fisher, scored 15 of his 21 points in the first half as the Saints routed Rider 74-53 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament final to earn the league’s automatic NCAA bid. All of Fisher’s points were a result of 3-point shots, either makes or free throws from being fouled beyond the arc, reports the Albany Times Union . More »
