(Newser) - Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will not play in tonight's preseason opener against Baltimore. McNabb, sidelined since tearing a ligament in his right knee last November, has not yet recovered from surgery. A.J. Feeley will start and play the first quarter, Kelly Holcomb the second, and rookie Kevin Kolb the second half, coach Andy Reid said. More »

New York won't offer Pro Bowler more cash to stave off retirement

(Newser) - The Giants will not offer Michael Strahan more than his current $4 million salary to return next year, the Post reports. General Manager Jerry Reese told the 35-year-old defensive end, who's been mulling over a retirement decision, that New York will proceed as if he were "never coming back." Five-time Pro Bowler strains a hamstring in New England camp

(Newser) - Fresh Patriots wideout Randy Moss left training camp yesterday with a hamstring injury, the Boston Herald reports. The five-time Pro Bowler came up limp while running routes with QB Tom Brady, though he reportedly left the playing field without assistance. The Pats haven't released details on the 30-year-old receiver. More »
