Witches Furious With O'Donnell

Don't count on the Wiccan vote in Delaware, Christine

(Newser) – Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell apparently didn't realize she was risking votes when she denounced her witchcraft-dabbling past as a brief fling with "questionable" people. Now witches are furious. "She is defaming Wiccans," High Priestess Selena Fox told the Huffington Post. "America needs to be a place where you can celebrate diversity and practice your religion without getting ridiculed or defamed."

A candidate who "equates witchcraft with satanism is ill informed and is not likely to get the support of people involved in nature religion," said Fox, referring to O'Donnell's experiences at a "black mass" that she discussed on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect. "I'm concerned there will be more misinformation as well as ridicule and disrespect. We are living in politically turbulent times." Another Wiccan leader warned that there is a "very large pagan community in Delaware."

Wiccans have nothing to so with satanism, emphasized a high priestess of Wiccans, despite Christine O'Donnell's experiences.

Good grief you wiccans are arrogant...there are other types of witches you know. You do not own the word! And yes, there are Satanic Witches...go mix some herbs and dance around "skyclad" or at least do something interesting instead of spending all of your time complaining about how no one takes you seriously.

It's the same old crap. Someone says something, anything, about someone or something and immediately out of the woodwork come droves of people who support someone or something to state that the person who said the initial something is offending them. This is what we call "freedom to bitch about anything (everything)".
