(Newser) – The two Rutgers students accused of covertly taping Tyler Clementi's encounter with another man have withdrawn from the school. Their lawyers announced the move last night, with Molly Wei’s lawyer telling the New Jersey Star-Ledger that she wrote to the school and asked to "withdraw without prejudice" over “concerns for her safety.” Dharun Ravi’s lawyer, however, noted that the pair would have faced disciplinary hearings if they’d stayed.

“They were given the option of withdrawing and they can reapply,” Ravi’s lawyer told the Home News Tribune. “Realistically, they couldn't go back no matter what. He definitely plans to go somewhere else.” Clementi’s parents had demanded their expulsion from Rutgers. For background on this story, click here.

These two dirtbags were really, really stupid and stupidity has always had a very high price. Just look at republicans. Nice to see that their names and pictures have been plastered all over the internet. They deserve every bit of retribution they get.
