A choked-up Glenn Beck described a rough night for his family in New York City's Bryant Park when they tried to watch a movie this week. "These people were some of the most hateful people I have ever seen,” said Beck on his radio show today, reports Mediaite. One person intentionally kicked a glass of wine onto his wife, and others yelled things like, "We hate conservatives," he said. The Becks stayed until the end of the Hitchcock flick despite the "mob mentality."

“I swear to you I think, if I had suggested, and I almost did, “Wow, does anybody have a rope? Because there’s tree here. You could just lynch me.’ And I think there would have been a couple in the crowd that would have," said Beck. He also took issue with Gawker (without naming it) for publishing photos of his family there. Click to read the not-so-sympathetic reaction from the site, which isn't buying the wine-kicking claim.
