(Newser) – The 11-0 Hawaii Warriors followed Heisman-candidate Colt Brennan to a 39-27 victory last night, beating defending WAC champions Boise State to take the conference crown outright for the first time. Brennan broke records with his five touchdowns and 495 passing yards, as the Warriors proved that "giants do fall," reports the Honolulu Advertiser.

The Broncos blocked two Warriors extra-point kicks, and found themselves leading by one point in the third quarter. But Brennan led his team on two long touchdown drives, and Hawaii's defense came down hard on Boise's running game in the fourth. A BCS game may be in the cards for the Warriors if they take their final regular-season matchup next week.
