Herman Cain's Support Slips

So maybe multiple sexual harassment accusations are a bad thing after all. After reports last week that Herman Cain's support had risen in the face of accusations that he harassed women at the National Restaurant Association, now it looks like they're taking a toll. Cain's favorable ratings among Republicans dropped 9 percentage points to 57% from 66% a week earlier, according to a new poll by Reuters. Among all registered voters, his support declined 5 percentage points to 32%.

The poll shows that 88% of Republicans are aware of the scandal, but that only 39% think there is truth to the allegations (compared with 53% of registered voters who believe them). "The most striking thing is that Herman Cain is seeing a fairly substantial decline in favorability ratings, particularly among Republicans," said a pollster. (More Herman Cain stories.)
