Um, whoops: MythBusters was attempting to fire a cannonball through barrels of water and a cinder block wall in order to slow its inertia. Instead, the cannon misfired, sending the reality TV show's cannonball on a tear through a residential California neighborhood yesterday. The cannonball first blasted through the front door of a nearby home, up to the second floor and through the back wall, before ricocheting off another house and smashing through the window of a minivan. Amazingly, no one was hurt.

"I kind of looked inside and seen a big old cannonball. And I had just got out of the van five minutes earlier," the minivan's owner tells KTVU. "I'm glad my kids weren't inside the van. So lucky." As for the residents of the home that suffered the most damage, they were asleep and somehow remained so even as a cannonball careened through their home. Discovery Channel—which airs MythBusters—is "very sorry that this happened," says a consultant for the show. Fortunately, "they have insurance for these kinds of things."
