There's no statute of limitations on juicy details, as evidenced by the amount of media attention a June 24, 2010, letter is getting. AllThingsD yesterday posted the letter, written by infamous celeb attorney Gloria Allred to Mark Hurd, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard. He stepped down last year in the wake of a sex harassment probe, and Allred's letter outlines the claims against him, as made by her client, contract worker Jodie Fisher. AllThingsD deems it "full of drama as expected" ... and also full of "soap-operatic terms." Among the highlights, as alleged by Allred:
- The inappropriate behavior began in October 2007, following a dinner at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta; Fisher claims Hurd asked her to stay the night, and pressured her when she refused.
- At an event two months later, he complained that he was "doing all the work" in their relationship. He kissed her.
- He reportedly told Fisher that Sheryl Crow liked him.
- He tried to wow her in Madrid by pointing out his million dollar balance while at an ATM.
- He reportedly spilled business secrets, telling her about a not-publicly-known deal HP was working on.
- Though he was married, he supposedly said he could spend his entire life with her, but would have to see "how the chemistry in bed was."
The behavior reportedly continued for two years. The letter threatened a lawsuit, and the case was settled out of court and wrapped up on Aug. 4, 2010. But on Aug. 5, 2010, Fisher wrote
Hurd a letter, noting that "there are many inaccuracies in the details of the June 24, 2010 letter. I do not believe that any of your behavior was detrimental to HP or in any way injured the company or its reputation." Click to
