(Newser) – Leave it to Donald Trump to infuse Election 2012 with the eau de reality TV: The real estate mogul and self-styled GOP kingmaker yesterday promised a "major announcement" today, which was widely reported to be an endorsement of Newt Gingrich. Except now Politico, Drudge, and CNN are reporting that the Donald will instead endorse Mitt Romney at a 12:30pm Las Vegas news conference. What else would we expect from the man still considering a third-party run? Stay tuned. (Click to read Buzzfeed's collection of the funniest Trump-endorsement-related tweets.)

As all eyes turn to Nevada, Rick Santorum has also nabbed a significant Tea Party endorsement: that of Sharron Angle, reports the National Review. Angle lauds Santorum's "continuous opposition to Amnesty, ObamaCare, the bail-outs, and cap and trade" as "a perfect fit with our main street Tea Party movement." (Click to read why no one cares who Trump gets behind.)
