Slate reminds us that there are a few rules to these names: They need to be two or three syllables; no tongue-twisters; and family members' code names should begin with same letter. Katy Waldman writes that "an apt code name is like Cinderella’s glass slipper; it fits the wearer perfectly." With that in mind, she lays out a match-the-protectee-with-the-code-name quiz.
