Guitar Hero: $9K; Lesson to Pothead Son: Priceless

Posted Dec 17, 07 4:23 PM CST in Technology Arts & Living

(Newser) – Christmas came early for a father who sold a rare $90 Guitar Hero III video game for $9,100 on eBay. He searched for "the Holy Grail of Christmas presents" for 2 weeks, he said in his auction description, and "couldn't wait to spread the jubilance to my son," AFP reports. But then he came home early and found the 15-year-old smoking marijuana with friends.

The Montreal man auctioned the game online as a punishment, selling it to an Australian. The father, a teacher who did not reveal his name, still plans to get his son a Christmas gift. "Maybe something like Barbie as the Island Princess or Dancing with the Stars," he quipped. "I know he will just love them."
