(Newser) – A lucky Kansas resident today reaped the benefit of pure dumb luck: $157.9 million, or $110 million after taxes, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports. The anonymous Mega Millions winner buys lottery tickets "quite often," says the Kansas Lottery's executive director, but picked up only one Mega ticket that day. And the ticket "was very secure" when the winner showed up to claim his or her millions. “This person looks forward to retirement."
