(Newser) – A rambling bear apparently looking for new wild life on a University of Colorado campus yesterday ended up cooling his heels in a tree. The young male was "pretty mellow, resting on a branch for close to two hours" near student apartments at the Boulder school, said a campus cop. Officials shot a tranquilizer dart into the animal, which tumbled from the tree onto a large mat. The bear will be taken some 50 miles away and released in the woods, a spokesman told ABC News.

Getting high on campus? Actually, the bear has been shot with a tranquilizer dart and is falling out of a tree onto a mat.

Cute little guy.  I hope they don't drop him into the middle of some big bad old bear's territory.

Even with a big mat I imagine an unconscious 600 lb man falling that far out of a tree would have broken a few bones.  Bears must be made of tougher stuff.
