US 'Ready' to Strike Iran: Ambassador

Though diplomatic solution is preferable, Dan Shapiro says

(Newser) – The US has all the planning in place to launch a military strike on Iran should diplomacy fail to curb its nuclear ambitions, the US ambassador to Israel said today, just days before nuclear talks are set to resume. "It would be preferable to resolve this diplomatically," Ambassador Dan Shapiro said on Israeli Army Radio, according to Reuters. "But that doesn't mean that option is not fully available—not just available, but it's ready. The necessary planning has been done to ensure that it's ready."

The statement more or less mirrors Shapiro's January statement, made to an Israeli newspaper, that the US was "guaranteeing that the military option is ready and available to the president the moment he decides to use it."

I am not a supporter of war and specifically one that goes after unknown/unproven weapons (we've been down that road), but what scares me is that I know for a fact that we have troops in the area that are ready on a moments notice to move in country. I can't say where my info comes from, but we are there now. If you pray, now is the time to do so. We don't need to place more of our loved ones lives in harms way, and should be bringing them all home.

Just what the world needs, another war. We don't want the military complex to be sitting to idle, do we? No point in having a year of not killing innocent people, that would be bad for business. Besides, who should be telling Iran what to do with the states galavanting all over the globe in military operations. Every see the Iranians attack anyone, anybody?
