Actress Kathryn Joosten has died after a lengthy battle with lung cancer, just weeks after her meddling neighbor character on Desperate Housewives died in the series finale. The 72-year-old was a heavy smoker first diagnosed with the disease in 2001, notes Radar, but had been declared cancer-free as recently as two years ago. Tweeted co-star Brenda Strong, "To the memory of an extraordinary woman, actress, and friend. Rest in Peace Kathryn Joosten. Wisteria Lane won't be the same without you."
