Rampaging Bad Santas Shut Down Movie Theater

Posted Dec 24, 07 2:47 AM CST in Arts & Living World

(Newser) – What the ho? Moviegoing New Zealanders were forced out of a theater when some 50 drunken hooligans dressed as Santa invaded a cineplex, trashing posters and other property, shouting "Ho f---ing ho!" and setting off a fire alarm before running off. Police think the troublemakers were college students, but they couldn't be identified on security cameras through their hats and beards.

One customer said the gang showed up Saturday afternoon "kicking things over, ripping down posters and smashing everything in sight." The incident may have been linked to "Santarchy," a bizarre movement in which people dressed as Santa go wild in cities from Los Angeles to Montreal. The theater manager called the incident a big "disappointment for the other people who were there."
