(Newser) – Dick Cheney's daughter Mary wed her longtime partner today in Washington, reports the Daily Caller. Mary Cheney married Heather Poe, and the former VP is thrilled, according to a statement from him and his wife. “Mary and Heather have been in a committed relationship for many years, and we are delighted that they were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have that relationship recognized,” the Cheneys said. Dick Cheney backed same-sex marriage in 2009, notes CBS. The women are raising two children in Virginia.

Good luck and all the best, good ladies. Hopefully we can all move to more and more calm, sane acceptance of life's variety and beauty.
