Judge Considering Bail for Zimmerman

Defense argues he's not a danger to the community

(Newser) – George Zimmerman's defense team is trying to get him out of jail again. In a hearing today, Zimmerman's lawyers requested he be released on the same $150,000 bond he was released on the first time, arguing that he was not a danger to the community, and had never missed a court date, the Orlando Sentinel reports. While the lawyers conceded that Zimmerman "should have done something" about his wife's alleged perjury, the evidence didn't show a "grand conspiracy" to hide money from the court.

According to the Sentinel, the proceedings seemed more like a trial than a bail hearing, with defense lawyers claiming Zimmerman had acted in self defense, and that the charges against him were "very weak," and prosecutors firing back that if anyone had acted in self defense, it was Martin. The judge is currently considering the request, and he may not make a decision today.

G.Z is only 28: Does that make him Young Jeezy? Also, a Hispanic guy shoots a black guy. No matter what the outcome, there's going to be cries of racism either way.

This entire case is doomed. Zimmerman should not be charged. There is insufficient evidence to hold him.
